City Hall will be closed:

November 24th and 25th for Thanksgiving
December 26th for Christmas
December 27th, 28th, 29th and 30th for Vacation
January 2nd, 2017 for New Year’s Day

Notice is hereby given that the filings are open on the 13th day of December 2016 at 8:00 am for the offices to be filled by the General Municipal Election on April 4th 2017

 

The following offices are to be filled by the General Municipal Election for terms of 2 years, or as stated below

Mayor                      2 year term

Alderman Ward 1     2 year term

Alderman Ward 2     2 year term

 

Filing for the above offices will close on the 17th day of January 2017 at 5:00 pm filings are to be made with the city clerk at Kimmswick City Hall 6041 Third Street, Kimmswick MO 63053

 

Special note: Kimmswick City Hall will be closed December 26th, 2016 and will reopen Tuesday January 3rd 2017

 

Qualification, U. S. Citizenship Registered voter, 21 years of age and a resident of Kimmswick for at least on year prior to filing

 

Per Missouri State Statute 115.342 RSMo. it is now required for any person seeking office to file form 5120 this form must be filled out and notarized then brought with you to the city clerk’s office at the time of registration

Driving Directions to Kimmswick and the Anheuser Estate from I-270 and I-55

 

Head southwest on I-55 S

Take exit 186 toward Imperial/Kimmswick

Turn left at Imperial Main St

Turn right at US-61/US-67

Turn left at MO-K

Turn right at 4th St

Turn left at Market St

Take Market Street to the second stop sign make a right on  Front street 

Go over bridge the road will turn into

Windsor Harbor road. House will be on your left. 6000 Windsor Harbor Road

 

Follow rail road tracks you will see the home then make a left into the Estate grounds you will go over the RR tracks

Also during your trip to Kimmswick this season visit the Kimmswick Historical Society Museum located at Third and Vine Streets. Hours of Operation are Saturday and Sunday 1:00 pm to 4:00pm. You can View a slide show of the history of Kimmswick, tour the Museum, and tour the Burgess Howe House a restored 1840’s Log House. Tours are available by reservation for other days of the week. The Anheuser family bought the estate in 1916 and used it as a summerhouse until 1945 when Mabel-Ruth and her husband, the late Frederick Straub Anheuser moved there. The Anheuser collection includes family heirlooms, antiques, portraits, and a family library. Accenting the collection are Mrs. Anheuser's Westward Ho Crystal collection and a pair of 1904 hand-carved World's Fair beds. The grounds feature splendid views of the river and Bald Eagles are often spotted
soaring above the river bluffs.

The Anheuser Museum and Estate in Kimmswick, Missouri is open every Thursday, from April through November from 12:00 to 4:00pm. (Admission fee is $5.00) The museum is housed in the ancestral home of Fred and Mabel Ruth Anheuser, located in Kimmswick, just 25 miles south of downtown St. Louis. The home, built in 1867, sits at the south end of the town by the Mississippi River at Water's Point.
